What is K-Dial?
K-Dial enables you to take advantage of our low-cost call rates without going to the website. You make calls from your phone without paying your telephone provider.
What do I need to do to use K-Dial?
- Register with Kihote.
- Select a contact in your Kihote Phonebook. Click on the + sign against their number. The 1800 K-Dial number is displayed at the bottom of your Phonebook entry for that contact.
- You can select up to four phone numbers to have K-Dial numbers. We allocate each phone number a different 1800 number. You can also use 1800 66 5824 to call any phone that has not been assigned a K-Dial number. There is no charge for these five 1800 numbers.
- Register your own phone numbers with K-Dial. In the right hand column in your Phonebook, there is a box with K-Dial header. Click on Set up. A new window opens up. Enter your telephone number in the box including area code where appropriate. You can register two numbers for free. When you want to register more phone numbers, please send an email to enquiries@kihote.com.au.
- When a 1800 number is displayed in your Kihote Phonebook, enter that number into your phone's phonebook. Use that 1800 number to ring your contact. You can only ring from a phone number already registered in your Kihote Phonebook.
- To make a call, select the 1800 number assigned to your contact and when it rings, hang up. Kihote will call you back and connect you.
Can I use K-Dial from any phone?
Yes, but you need to register the phone number in your Kihote Phonebook first. Anyone can register two phone numbers at no charge. To register more numbers please send an email to enquiries@kihote.com.au.
Can I call any landline or mobile in Australia with K-Dial?
Yes. When you register with Kihote, you have 4 free K-Dial numbers which can be used to ring previously selected phone numbers and 1 free K-Dial 'Open Number' (1800 66 5824) which you can use to ring any phone number.
How do I use the K-Dial 'Open Number' 1800 66 5824
- Register your phone number in your Kihote Phonebook.
- Ring 1800 66 5824. When you hear a dial tone, terminate the call.
- Kihote rings you back and you enter the ten digit number you wish call using your phone key pad. When entering the number, you must add the area code first e.g. 02.
- Kihote connects you with the number you just entered.
How does Kihote know who to call?
When you ring a 1800 number, Kihote uses your Caller ID to call you back and connect you to the person you want to talk to. You must have Caller ID activated to use K-Dial.
Can I have more than 5 K-Dial numbers?
Yes. Kihote provides 5 K-Dial numbers for free. Each additional 5 numbers costs 1 credit per month ie 15 K-Dial numbers will cost 20 credits ($2) per month. Credits will automatically be deducted from your account.
How do I add K-Dial numbers to my phonebook?
Click on the + sign alongside your contact's landline or mobile number. At the bottom of the entry, the K-Dial number appears in an orange box.
Is there an easy way to add a K-Dial number to my mobile?
Yes. After adding a K-Dial number, click on the SMS Details in the same box. A new window opens with an SMS message containing relevant contact details. If required, add your mobile phone number and click Send.
How do I remove K-Dial numbers from my phonebook?
Go to your Kihote Phonebook and in the right hand column there is a box with K-Dial header. Click on the Remove link against the contact name under Call K-Dial Numbers.
Alternatively, click on the - sign alongside your contact's landline or mobile number in your Kihote Phonebook. The K-Dial number is removed.
How much does it cost to use K-Dial?
K-Dial costs the same as making a call through the Kihote website. Learn more.

A credit cost 10 cents. The first 5 K-Dial numbers are free. Each additional group 5 K-Dial numbers costs 10 credits per month.
Why didn't I get a call back when I rang a K-Dial number?
Reasons include:
- Caller ID was not enabled on your phone
- Insufficient credit in your account to make a call
- Your phone was engaged when Kihote called. Please hang up after the 1800 number is connected.
- Your phone is not registered as a K-Dial phone number in your Kihote Phonebook.
